Yes. With deep penetration and filler wire from 0.8 to 1.6 mm you fill wider seams and gaps easily, from thin sheet to heavy structural work.

Little. Reckon on 8 to 12 l/min for all materials. Austenitics we weld with 95/5 forming gas, steels with pure argon or CO2.
With laser glasses or a welding helmet rated for the right wavelength and standard, yes. The machine also only welds once the contact sensor is pressed against the workpiece. Besides the emergency stop there is an external safety circuit for door contacts, signalling or other external interlock systems.
